As one of the few Calgary law firms with French-speaking lawyers, we knew that there was going to be a unique opportunity for us to support the Faculty of Law at the Univerity of Calgary with their Certificate of Common Law in French (CCLF).

Matthew Benson, the first law graduate from the University of Calgary to obtain the Certificate of Common Law in French (CCLF), completed a multi-month internship with us at Richmond Tymchuk Family Law during his studies. In his time with our firm he invested in the preparation of materials for French workshops for newcomers to Canada and participated in consultations with English and French-speaking clients.

“We were glad to have Matthew at the office.Open to learning and enthusiastic about the law, he never refused new possibilities. We were happy to have him this winter and we would not hesitate to recruit another CCLF student,”

The University of Calgary has published a feature article on Matthew Benson that you can read here to learn more about the CCLF program and Matthew’s achievements.
