Roger Rouault is a graduate from the University of Alberta and obtained his Juris Doctor in 2014 and his Bachelor of Arts in English and History in 2011. During Roger’s years of studies he spent a year studying full time in French at the Campus Saint-Jean, a semester in Cortona, Italy and a semester at Tilburg University in the Netherlands. Having studied in different countries and encountering different cultures along with his deep family roots in Alberta, he understands and respects the diversity of families and dedicates himself by listening closely to their family law needs.
During his legal career, Roger has spent time working with a human rights organization in South Africa, in a private corporate law firm and in-house with a corporation. The experiences garnered from these fields is brought into his family law practice. Roger understands that not all conflicts are about just matrimonial property or financial support, but that values, emotions and connections can play important roles in clients making decisions and deciding how they want to proceed. That said, Roger understands business in Alberta and uses his distinguished experiences to ensure clients are aware of their entitlements.
When Roger is not in the office he is preoccupied by a number of causes and activities. Roger plays ice hockey year round, golf and squash. He continues to volunteer with the Canadian Bar Association’s Young Lawyers International Program as an alumni who interviews and mentors young lawyers participating in the program. Locally, he volunteers with Calgary Legal Guidance and is involved with TEDx YYC.
